Changing a thermostat?

i found out that i need a new thermostat for my holden commodore. is this something really simple, would i be able to do it myself or would it require a professional? eg, is it easier than changing brake pads or disk rotors? any advice ta

Drain the radiator fluid and removes the bolts holding it on.
Changing a thermostat?
A perfect time to be able to back flush the engine coolant is when you change the thermostat. You remove the thermostat and temporarily remount the thermostat bell housing so that coolant can flow full force through the engine. Ask a garage if they could flush the engine coolant in that manner.
Much easier, usually only 2 bolts a gasket or sealer and a little time! *Spring goes into the block*
